Varicoses (Basic, Advanced)
The Varicose Veins Workshop was a two-day event that provided a comprehensive theoretical and practical overview of ultrasound in the assessment and treatment of varicose veins. The workshop began with a detailed review of ultrasound physics, image optimization, and knobology, ensuring participants could effectively adjust imaging parameters for high-quality visualization. Following this technical foundation, the program transitioned to the clinical aspects of ultrasound use in varicose vein evaluation and management.
Day One focused on the basics of ultrasound physics and knobology, familiarizing the participants with the related anatomy and venous physiology. The sessions continued with lower extremity vein mapping and an overview of the systems and approaches used in the treatment of varicose veins, allowing the attendees to strengthen their understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
Day Two built upon the foundational knowledge of the first day, revisiting image optimization and ultrasound mapping of varicose veins. It further explored varicoses, its common causes and treatments, and delved into the theoretical aspects of sclerotherapy and endovenous thermal ablation (EVTA) procedures. The day concluded with a live demonstration of EVTA radiofrequency therapy and foam sclerotherapy on a varicose patient, providing participants with a hands-on opportunity to observe and consolidate the techniques discussed in theory.
The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session, where participants reflected on the practical applications of ultrasound in varicose vein diagnosis and treatment. This closing segment reinforced the connection between theoretical learning and clinical practice, marking the end of an intensive and insightful two-day educational experience.
